Walt Disney World

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party kicked off its first party of the season on Friday and with it, Disney made a few announcements:

New! Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Season Pass Front Entrance at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

On the day of the first party, Disney announced that guests can now purchase a season pass to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Parties. The season pass gives you access to up to 35 party dates (excluding Oct 31st, of course) for $299 USD plus tax. If you are able to attend more than 3 parties, you’ve made your money back.

Guests with existing party tickets can upgrade to a season pass by calling the Disney Reservation Center at 407-939-4295, or they can visit any Walt Disney World Theme Park Ticket Window. Season Passes are available in limited quantities.

Halloween Party Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom card announced!

©Disney

For those who have seen our Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Guide, you’ll know that we stress how important it is to remember to pick up this party-exclusive Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom card. These popular collectables are a great addition to any sorcerer’s card arsenal, but they are also great reminders of the parties you have attended.

This year, the card is inspired by Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular, the brand-new fireworks display debuting at the party this week! The Phantasmal Fireworks Flash features Donald, Daisy, Mickey, Minnie and Goofy in their Halloween costumes.

As always, you need a ticket to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party to be eligible to receive this card and you can pick it up, during the party, at the Firehouse on Main Street, USA.

Photopass Magic Shots announced for MNSSHP Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party PhotoPass Magic Shot with Headless Horseman

Similar to years past, the Magic Kingdom has more than 30 photo opportunities in and around the park during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. In an effort to help guests plan their time in the party, Disney has put together a short list of some of the more popular PhotoPass Magic Shots. You can find the link here.

They include favourites like the headless horseman at the entrance to the Magic Kingdom and the lantern at the entrance to the Haunted Mansion. New this year, the Disney PhotoPass Studio inside Sir Mickey’s will be open during the party and will feature a variety of Halloween-themed props, no reservation required.

New Mid-Day Tickets available for WDW Magic Kingdom Entrance

Attention anyone who finds it hard to roll out of bed early! Disney has a brand new ticket available just for you! Guests can now purchase Mid-Day Magic tickets which give admission to the parks starting at 12pm.

This special offer is available in a few different lengths:

  • 2-days: from $88 per day plus tax (from $176 total plus tax)
  • 3-days: from $84 per day plus tax (from $252 total plus tax)
  • 4-days: from $79 per day plus tax (from $316 total plus tax)

These are date-based tickets, similar to the normal tickets available. Because of that, the 2-Day ticket expires 4 days after the selected start date. 3-Day tickets expire 5 days after the selected start date. 4-Day tickets expire 7 days after the selected start date.

Any tickets purchased must have a start date on or before December 15th, 2019.

This is a way of Disney offering a better value ticket for guests who only plan on attending mid-day or later.

Our 10¢

Our 10¢ really depends on if you’re an on-site guest or not. We expect an increase in crowds when Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge opens on August 29th. On-site guests have a distinct advantage with the extra, extra magic hours offered. Especially because they are available at Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. If you’re an on-site guest staying at a Walt Disney World Resort or Good Neighbour Hotel, it’s in your best interest to get the regular tickets and utilize the extra magic hours. However, if you’re staying off-site, arriving to enter the parks for 9am gives you a disadvantage. In this case, it may actually be more worthwhile to save a few (US) dollars and arrive mid-day. That way, you can avoid the initial rush and plan to stay longer into the evening.

New Marketplaces added for Food & Wine Epcot Food & Wine Festival - Figment Topiary

Epcot has just announced two new marketplaces that are being added to the lineup for the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. The Donut Box and Cool Wash will both debut starting October 1st, 2019, part-way through the festival.

The Donut Box features unique donuts created to respond to the growing donut trends. The main attraction here will be the Black and White Coffee Cocktail garnished with a fresh yeast donut sprinkled with chocolate espresso bean crumbles. That being said, the Sweet Corn Fritter with Fresno and Red Pepper Jelly has caught our attention.

Cool Wash will invite guests to create their own frozen beverages by mixing slushy flavours (everything from Orange Cream to Blue Raspberry). There are also additional items to make your concoction truly unique. Add Swedish Fish, Boba Pearls, Jelly Drops and even Pop Rocks!

The Pony Rides offered daily at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will have a temporary reduction in capacity. Starting today, the Draft Horse Barn and Pony Farm will be inaccessible as a brandnew barn is being built. Set to debut in Spring of 2020, the new, modern stable and updated outdoor space will provide a new home for “The Happiest Horses on Earth”. Guests will be able to explore exhibits of classic Disney equestrian artifacts from as far back as the 1950s.

Until the new barn is built, guests can continue to enjoy Pony rides at the Trail Blaze Corral close to the campground’s entrance. The resort’s trail rides and carriage rides will also continue to be available.

Weddings are extremely popular at Disney, and the Wedding Pavilion at the Grand Floridian is frequently booked up. So, to give happy couples some more flexibility, Disney has announced new wedding venues at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. The outdoor Destino Plaza is the focal point here. It is situated on the meticulously manicured lawn, with the Gran Destino Tower as a backdrop. Steps away at the Lantana Courtyard is an area perfect for an intimate outdoor reception.

As another potential wedding location, the Casitas Courtyard doubles as both a ceremony and reception destination. For larger receptions, La Mesa Patio is a private courtyard, surrounded by lush greenery and palm trees.
