Holidays at Animal Kingdom
Disney is expanding its array of Holiday offerings to include Disney’s Animal Kingdom this year. Guests will see holiday décor all over the park, in every land. The holiday experiences aren’t limited just to daytime, as there are some incredible offerings at night as well.
Discovery island will come alive with hand-crafted pieces by a community of artists. Wireframe lanterns and Animal-inspired luminaries with fill the space to bring a really eclectic holiday look to the Island. Life-sized, artisan-sculpted puppets of reindeer, foxes, penguins and polar bears will interact with guests while musicians fill the air with a festive sound.
At night, the Tree of Life awakenings shows will take a wintery spin. The newly imagined tales will also have a holiday-inspired musical score underneath.
This looks to be a truly unique new addition to Disney’s already incredible display during the holidays.
Intergalactic Food announced for Galaxy’s Edge
Following in the footsteps of Galaxy’s Edge opening in Disneyland, Star Wars cuisine has been announced for the upcoming opening of August 29th, 2019. On the planet of Batuu, there will be 5 places to grab a bite to eat, or a signature drink (blue milk, anyone?).
In Oga’s Cantina, likely to be the busiest location in Galaxy’s Edge, will serve up a combination of snacks and specialty cocktails served throughout the day in a lounge-type atmosphere. In the morning, adults can enjoy a Bloody Rancor (their take on a bloody Mary). In the afternoon and evening, the options open up to include some unique concoctions, like the Yub Nub and the Fuzzy Tauntaun. There’s even a Walt Disney World exclusive drink, called the Rodian Ration (vodka, sour apple liqueur, Sprite and green apple popping pearls).
Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo is the biggest quick-service location in Batuu, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is already online and includes some great options like the Braised Shaak Roast, Smoked Kaadu Ribs, Yobshrimp Noodle Salad and for the vegetarians, a Plant-Based “Kefta” in the Felucian Garden Spread.
Ronto Roasters is the quick-service location that features a pod racer engine in the centre, “roasting” the food served. The menu offers a limited selection for more of a grab-and-go feel. Ronto Wraps are the centrepiece, with roasted pork, grilled sausage and peppercorn sauce with a tangy slaw, wrapped in pita bread. There is also a breakfast Ronto Wrap, if you happen to be visiting early.
Of course, a trip to Batuu wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Milk Stand. Both the Blue Milk and Green Milk from the Star Wars Universe are available here. They are a blend of Coconut and Rice Milk with either “alluring fruity characteristics” for the Blue Milk, or “zippy citrus and tropical characteristics” for the Green Milk. You can also order them with alcohol, for the adults in your party.
Last, but not least, Kat Saka’s Kettle is another small stand, which features colourful specialty popcorn. It’s the perfect snack for wandering through the Black Spire Outpost Shops.

Debuts at Oogie Boogie Bash
The Oogie Boogie Bash is a new separate-ticket party in Disney California Adventure Park. In anticipation of its debut, Disney has been releasing some of the new experiences and entertainment that will be a part of the event.
The big reveal this past week, was for a new World of Color show called “Villainous!”. Oogie Boogie himself tells the Halloween tale of a young girl named Shelley Marie. Shelley is trying to decide which of her favourite Disney Villains she wishes to portray in her Halloween Costume. Her journey takes her through devious encounters with Ursula, The Queen, Dr. Facilier, Hades, Jafar, Maleficent and more. The show features the usual fountains, lights, lasers, projections and special effects, but all to this uniquely new story.
Also featured are some splendidly spooky experiences for kids. Mickey’s Trick & Treat is a great first-impression for young ghouls. This interactive stage production showcases Mickey Mouse and his pals as they throw their own one-of-a-kind Halloween party. With lots of dancing, candy and (not-so-frightening) scary stories, this is sure to be a really enjoyable time at the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land.
During the party, the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail will be transformed into the Villains Grove. This family-friendly experience features a series of Halloween scenes crafted from a not-so-scary symphony of sound, light and shadows for kids of all ages to explore.
The Frightfully Fun Parade, debuting this year will start off with a ride from the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow, followed by Mickey, Minnie and a host of other characters singing and dancing to the spell-binding songs of Halloween.
Special event merchandise is available during the parties, with Oogie Boogie fans sure to find something that strikes their fancy. Special sweatshirts, t-shirts and other apparel for men, women and kids are available at Elias and Co. As well as Gone Hollywood. The new Oogie Boogie Bash headband is also likely going to be a hot-ticket item.
The Party will also feature specialty food and drink, including Oogie Boogie-inspired sweet funnel cake fries.
This new party starts September 17th, 2019 and is offered on 20 select nights throughout the Fall.
