Walt Disney World
Halloween Celebration at Typhoon Lagoon
If you’re looking to avoid the crowds at Magic Kingdom on October 31st, Disney has added some exclusive Halloween offerings over at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park. On Halloween (from 10am-5pm), guests will be invited to do some trick-or-treating in the park at 3 separate locations. At Happy Landings Ice Cream, there will be an I-Scream Cone, which is a sandwich cookie waffle cone filled with Orange Dole Whip Soft Serve and sprinkles with a white chocolate surfboard on top.
Mickey and Donald will be dressed up in their pirate costumes to meet guests near the clock tower. Nearby to the pirate duo will be an exclusive DJ Dance Party. There are specially carved pumpkins and even a Halloween craft to experience at the park throughout the day.
While it doesn’t carry the same wow factor as Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, this seems like the perfect getaway to experience some Halloween fun during the daytime and give yourselves a chance to relax in the evening.
More Ultimate Disney Christmas Vacation Packages Available
This special holiday vacation offer has been in such high demand, that Disney has released additional packages to guests. This special offer is for a five-night stay at select Disney resort hotels from December 21st to 26th, 2019. Included with the price are four-day theme park tickets with the Park Hopper Option. The real benefit to the package is the extra holiday experiences that are exclusive to guests who book the Ultimate Disney Christmas Package.
On Saturday Dec 21st guests will get exclusive nighttime access to experience Avatar Flight of Passage and the Na’vi River Journey in Pandora, as well as Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. There’s also an exclusive showing of Rivers of Light: We Are One
Guests are given tickets to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party on Sunday December 22nd. On Monday December 23rd or Tuesday December 24th, guests can take advantage of an exclusive reserved viewing area to watch Epcot Forever. Also, each guest (ages 3 and up) receive a digital $50 Epcot Theme Park Dine Promo Card to use at participating locations in the park (it’s pretty much every dining location).
Then, on Christmas Day, December 25th, an Ultimate Disney Christmas gift will be delivered to your resort hotel room.
The offer can only be booked over the phone, but you can get all of the details here.
If you’re planning on visiting Walt Disney World over Christmas, this package is a good way to do it. While the tickets are the most expensive part of the package, the perks and the room rates are actually quite good, making this a worthwhile booking if you’re already planning on being there to celebrate the holidays.
New Dishes in Galaxy’s Edge
Oga’s Cantina in Galaxy’s Edge is adding a Charcuterie plate to its menu. This gives guests who are indulging in the adult beverages another option to help offset the effects of the alcohol. Kat Saka’s Kettle (home to the red and purple popcorn) will now be serving chocolate popcorn with Crait Red Salt (from the planet Crait that we all remember…right? From Star Wars: The Last Jedi?).
Ahead of their scheduled roll-out at all Disneyland restaurants, Docking Bay 7 and Ronto Roasters are adding their own plant-based items to the menu. A Garden Patty bao bun with roasted carrots, house sauce and a mandarin orange will be available for kids at Docking Bay 7. Over at Ronto Roasters, the Ronto-less Garden Wrap has a spicy kimchi slaw, sweet pickled cucumber and Gochujang spread on top of their plant-based sausage, all wrapped up in a pita.
New 60-Day Reservations
Galaxy’s Edge will also be offering guests the opportunity to book advanced reservations at Oga’s Cantina, Savi’s Workshop and the Droid Depot. Much like the roll-out at Galaxy’s Edge in Walt Disney World, the reservations are an extra way to help guests make the most of their time in the park.
The reservations will follow the same process as the 60-Day advanced dining reservations at Disneyland. They can be made ahead of time through the Disneyland website or the Disneyland app.
