When it comes to snacks at Walt Disney World, we are all spoiled for choice. From inside the parks, to Disney Springs, and even the resorts, there are plenty of signature snacks to be found. Some guests keep a bucket list of snacks they want to try. Others have honed in on their absolute must-haves and keep going back to them time and time again.

For any newly minted Disney fans (and for all those regulars who want to try them all), we have compiled a list so scrumptious, so delectable, that we dare you to finish reading without your mouth watering. So, without further ado, sit back and keep track of our Top 10 Favourite Disney Snacks.

10 – The Mickey Pretzel Lauren eating a Mickey Pretzel

Any fan of salty snacks should be aware of how addictive these Mickey-shaped morsels can be. Who doesn’t love a soft pretzel, with just the right amount of salty goodness. On top of that, there are some locations that will pair the pretzel with the inexplicably great cheese sauce (sometimes known as “plastic cheese”, or “hot cheese sauce”). Do I know what’s in it? Not exactly. Do I care to know? Nope! That little container of gooey cheese sauce is the perfect accoutrement for this snack.

9 – All The Cookies White Chocolate Chunk Cookie

It’s hard to narrow down to just one type, so why not make room for them all? Found in bakeries and sweets shops all over Walt Disney World, you can have cookies fresh from the display case, or find the pre-packaged Minnie’s Back Shop cookies at many shops around Disney property. No matter what, you’re about to have a good time with whatever type you come across.

Classic Chocolate Chip, White Chocolate Chip, delicious Peanut Butter or even Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, it’s hard to go wrong with any of these choices. These cookies are also thicker than your average cookie, and make for a much more substantial treat for your taste buds. Lauren and I can’t leave Disney until we’ve had a Peanut Butter and White Chocolate Chip cookie, respectively (or multiples of said cookies).

Oh, and one more thing to mention…Carrot Cake Cookies at Hollywood Studios. That is all.

8 – Peter Pan Float Peter Pan Key Lime Float

New on this must-have list comes exclusively from Storybook Treats in Fantasyland, so make sure to add it to the snack itinerary. The Peter Pan Float has arrived to fill a significant key-lime flavoured void in the snack arena.

Fans of key-lime flavoured anything will rejoice at this quintessential sunny-day snack which combines key-lime soft-serve over Sprite and finishes it off with a red chocolate feather in the proverbial cap (just like Peter Pan’s hat). While it doesn’t dethrone the other well-known Disney soft-serve goliath (see further down the list), it has solidified itself as a viable contender for favourite Disney snack.

(It’s also one of the most popular Instagram-ed snacks in the last year)

7 – Zebra Domes Zebra Domes

An often-overlooked competitor for favourite Disney snack, the Zebra Dome has so much to offer the Disney snack connoisseurs. Exclusive to the Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort, these tasty little bites do require a special trip if you’re not staying in one of the rooms. However, if you happen to be stopping by, why not pick up a few from the Mara (the resort’s quick-service dining) and try them out?

Once you get addicted…and you will get addicted…you may as well make a dinner reservation at Boma – Flavors of Africa, and enjoy an endless supply of them in the buffet.

Start with a small round cake base, cover it with an Amarula Cream Liquor mousse and then cover it with a soft white chocolate and drizzle with chocolate and chocolate shavings. For a comparator, think a better, bite-sized version of tiramisu. It’s decadent, and well worth the trip.

6 – Cupcakes Belle Cupcake at the Magic Kingdom

Okay, so I’ve gone a little generic here, but that’s only because the list of available cupcake flavours changes all the time, and they’re all over the place. Quick-service, table-service, resorts, parks…these little beauties are found everywhere. Heck, there’s even two bakeries that specialize in cupcakes in Disney Springs, plus a cupcake ATM (that’s not a joke, you can purchase cupcakes at “Sprinkles” from their outdoor cupcake ATM).

The combinations of flavours is endless, not to mention the often-intricate designs and theming on the cupcakes as well. I’ll never say no to a red velvet cupcake (or Elsa’s blue velvet cupcake), but I suppose if you twisted my arm, I would try every other flavoured cupcake Disney can dream up.

Always moist and covered generously with sweet icing, you can’t go wrong with any cupcake at Disney.

5 – Mickey Rice Krispies Treats Rice Krispies Treats

These iconic Disney snacks can pretty much be found anywhere a cupcake is lurking. Bakeries, and shops around Disney will carry various forms of these perfect little take-home snacks. Sure, you can eat them in the parks, but I secretly think they’re designed to be taken back to the resort at the end of the night and consumed just before bed.

The traditional treats are Mickey-shaped and have his ears dipped in chocolate and sprinkles, but they have gotten more sophisticated over recent years as well. They now feature different shapes (like turkey legs, or BB-8) combined with different levels of chocolate coating. Sometimes, they’ll even have elaborately printed designs on top, which makes these treats desirable to kids of any age.

Of course, you can always splurge on the giant Mickey (or Minnie) shaped rice krispies treats that are an incredibly impressive 12-inches wide!

4 – Caramel Snacks Caramel Treat from Karamell Küche

While caramel snacks can be found throughout Walt Disney World, we’re really actually only talking about one place in particular…one glorious place…Karamell-Küche in the Germany Pavilion at Epcot.

Inside this wonderous bakery is a cornucopia of caramel treats. You have your standard treats like caramel-covered cookies, or rice krispies treats. On top of that, you also have unique options like caramel apple tarts, caramel cheesecake with chocolate, Werther’s chewy caramel bars, caramel rolls with marshmallow cream, salted caramel fudge brownies, chocolate covered caramels and so much more. The lineup is long, but it’s usually because decision-making is so hard, and there are so many appetizing choices.

On top of all that, there’s also the signature caramel popcorn that you can watch as it’s coated right before your very eyes. Pick one snack, or pick twelve snacks from Karamell-Küche…no one will judge.

3 – Cake Pops Mickey Cake Pop

The bronze medal of our top 10 favourite Disney snacks goes to the mickey-shaped cake pops. What is a cake pop, you ask? Well, imagine a cake broken up and mixed with a healthy dose of icing, rolled into a circle. After that, two marshmallows for Mickey ears are attached to the top. Then the whole thing gets dipped in chocolate and then drizzled with another chocolate or sprinkles.

The best thing about cake pops is how simple and effective it is. They’re not overly messy, they’re incredibly tasty, and you can get them in vanilla, chocolate or red velvet flavours.

That’s it…there’s not much more to say than that…except that those who have had the Mickey cake pops know that they’re a must-have every single trip – at least once twice however many times you want

2 – Coconut Patties Mickey Coconut Patties

Okay, before you start complaining, I understand that there are certain types of people who do not like coconut, no matter what form it comes in. I won’t even bother appealing to their reason, and instead will just plow on with the undisputed second-favourite Disney Snack (this list was not crowd-sourced in any way).

For those of us who do love coconut, Coconut Patties are the Mickey-shaped bundles of joy that no Disney vacation would be complete without. Creamy and chocolate-dipped, the Coconut Patties come in two-packs for the snack-on-the-go, or the box of twelve. These are the perfect mid-day snack, after park snack, midnight snack and even “let’s start the day right” breakfast snack. There isn’t a wrong time of day to enjoy them.

1 – The Dole Whip Float Dole Whip at Aloha Isle

And here we are – our #1 favourite Disney snack – The Dole Whip Float. Imagine you’re in the humid Florida heat in the midst of summer (or any time that isn’t winter in Florida). It’s hot, and you’re feeling the sun beating down on your neck. Wouldn’t it be perfect if there was a cold, refreshing, tasty treat to cool you down and give you a second wind for the day?

Fear not, for the Dole Whip Float is here to the rescue. What’s that? You’ve never had a Dole Whip Float before? It’s only one of the most easily recognizable signature snacks in all of Walt Disney World.

Pineapple Soft-Serve floating over a bed of pineapple juice. It’s the perfect Florida treat to beat the heat. Any day at the Magic Kingdom isn’t complete without one. Also, if you happen to be staying at Pop Century or the Polynesian Village resorts, you can get them there as well.

Before I proposed to Lauren (at Disney, in front of the castle…you can see our wedding here), the first thing we did was head over to Aloha Isle in Adventureland and pick ourselves up a couple of Dole Whip Floats. That’s how great they are…proposals can wait 15 minutes for our pick for the #1 favourite Disney snack. It’s the perfectly magical way to enjoy your day in Walt Disney World.
